Manufacturing company – Turnaround CEO
Successful turnaround of a manufacturing firm with a seven year history of weak financial performance. This engagement started as a business adviser role to the owner and CEO and was subsequently asked to take over the CEO position.
After the initial business assessment and identifying the key issues, a number of financial, operational, and strategic changes were implemented. Sustained profitability was achieved within 5 months with significant improvements on all financial and operational metrics. Served as interim CEO for 15 months.
E-commerce start up – VP of Marketing
Turned around a 3-year-old e-commerce start-up by providing advice and guidance to the CEO. Served as VP of Marketing for 1 1/2 years. Directed the development and launch of a new e-commerce website. Consultation with CEO on money-losing projects with major Tier 1 suppliers resulting in major capital infusion from private equity. Proposed various redeployment and realignment initiatives and changes to senior management, quoting procedures and sales organization.
Private Equity owned company – Litigation Support
Identified misleading financial information filed by the seller to their senior lender before the transaction. Prepared an affidavit and summary and detailed financial information of the economic losses incurred by the buyer of the company. Provided a deposition of the findings with plaintiff’s and defendant’s counsel. Presented reports, summaries and detailed findings to an arbitration panel as an expert CFO witness.
Private Equity owned manufacturing company – Interim CFO
Working on post-acquisition integration and restructuring of a company acquired in a foreclosure proceeding. Responsible for tax compliance and planning. Completed due diligence and bank underwriting activities post-close. Preparation and coordination of audit and tax compliance and interface with Big 6 auditors. Close coordination and key adviser to CEO; member of the senior executive team overseeing strategies and tactics and periodic reporting to shareholders.
Private Equity owned global Tier 1 supplier – Interim Corporate Controller
Responsible for all global controller activities. Managed risk/resource planning. Prepared reports and presentations to CFO, non-financial managers, officers, and private equity group. Coordination for global audit, tax accounting and tax compliance; primary contact person with Big 4 auditors.
Family owned manufacturing company – Interim CFO, Crisis Management & Debt Restructuring
Responsible for directing all fiscal functions of the company. Support to restructure credit facility with primary lender and assist through GM bankruptcy filing. Negotiated with trade creditors and secondary OEM equipment lenders.
Family owned company, steel industry – CFO
Served as CFO for 7 years, responsible for all fiscal functions of the company. Instituted investment case analysis on new capital projects, customer programs and pricing models. Coordinated and integrated several acquisitions and a major divestiture. Implemented and directed strategic and tactical planning objectives that resulted in debt retirement. Initiated comprehensive cost reduction efforts. Coordinated legal support and prepared detailed analysis on gain/loss contingencies involving US and Canadian customer bankruptcies.
Global Tier 1 automotive supplier – VP and Corporate Controller
Responsible for all global controller activities across 30+ plants in North America and Europe. Coordination of worldwide audits and tax compliance with Big 4 auditors. Participated in strategic and tactical planning for new products, ventures, and customers. Coordinated due diligence for prospective buyers and lenders including OEM supply chain risk managers, outside consultants and agents. Following the company’s bankruptcy, contributed to a successful turnaround operation with a national private equity group.

Responsible for all global controller activities. Senior member of a team assigned to merge a spin-off division of a Fortune 500 company with a privately held organization with operations in Europe and Asia. Responsible for financial reporting, accounting and auditing and liaison with Big 4 auditors. Initiated and coordinated several successful post-merger turnaround activities.
